Kwik Sew Sleep Suit 2704

Tell me this isn't the cutest little outfit yet!!
The pattern is Kwik sew 2704 (purchased from Autumn Threads) and was super easy to make up. I did bring in the sides a bit and shorten the sleeves a little but then my girls are on the smaller size. The pattern itsself goes right up to about my size so it's real value for money
The fabric was from the clearance table at Spotlight, only $1 a metre! Bargain! And it's super snuggly and warm. All three girls have a sleep suit now and I'm thinking I could do with one!
(Slipper socks are handmade by Grandma, thank you!)

Book Week costumes

Our school celebrates book week every year with a huge parade and everyone (including teachers) dressing up as their favourite book character. This year our trio had already decided weeks before the event what they wanted to be and here's the result.

(I'm freezing Mum.....stop taking pictures and put my jacket back on!!)
Trixie Twinkle Toes Trot-a-lot Delight from "Who Wants To Be A Poodle" by Lauren Childs
Although this last one was technically a movie before it was a book Becky had her heart set on being Princess Leia and I think she really looked the part! Dress tutorial from here (a real life saver!!)
Phew....this year done, better start planning for next year!

Catch up time!

Life is just getting too busy and so it seems that I have to do a catch up of all the happenings in our home every few months.
Here's some highlights from July/August.......
Mary had a picture she drew put on display at school....it's carrots growing in our garden.
With the weather being so chilly the girls have enjoyed reading by the fire.
We were amazed to go outside late one night to get some wood and find snow falling from the sky! We quickly got the girls out of bed to come and see it. It lasted for about 10mins and then turned back into sleet but it was fun while it lasted.
Static electricity can be a hoot when walking past rows of fleecy dressing gowns!

We looked out the window one sunny Sunday afternoon to see this beautiful hawk sitting on the clothes line, I tried to sneak up on it to get a better picture but it retreated to the back fence and then flew away.

Also this month we welcomed two new chickens into our little gang, Cocoa and Speckles. A few have started laying again and we're enjoying eggs and toast for tea!

Rainy days are great for staying inside and drawing. Here are some of Becky's creations.
And finally we have the first hints of Spring starting to pop up around the garden.....it will soon be time to get the veggie patch going again. We are enjoying last Summers pumpkins still and our potatoes kept us going for quite a few months. Bring on the warmer weather!

Head over to here to see my sewing and crafting....

Matching scarf for a frosty morning

I finally got around to making a matching scarf for the little beanie I made for my little Missy. We have some heavy frosts here in Tassie and hats and scarves are a must for walking to school!

Teeny tiny crochet

No one in my house has little toes this small!
These are some booties and a hat I've made for the Little Esther Mae and some yummy donuts!
Booties and hat pattern are from The Lovely Crow, she has such beautiful patterns and are so well written with loads of instructions and even video walk throughs, my kind of patterns!
(please excuse the little tissue peaking out the pink booties, how unprofessional! Ha!)

Busy busy busy...

A friend of mine recently took over a little craft store in our main street and has asked if I would like to help her stock the shop. So over the last few months I've been sewing and sewing and then some more sewing. Luckily it's something I love to do!
I have created a range of small and medium sized pencil cases as well as little notebook folders to hold a small notebook and a few pens. Since these were doing well I decided to branch out and do some bags and a matching little coin purse as well. Also a few childrens clothes. The little dress is an Enid Gilchrist creation from long ago, too sweet!
It's enough sewing to keep me busy but not enough to wear me out so I'm really enjoying it.
If you're our little town please come down and have a visit Little Esther Mae (Emu Bay rd, Deloraine, Tas), Lisa the owner is so lovely and the shop if filled with all sorts of gorgeous handmade crafts.
Here are a few of my creations....
