Some winter sewing

Winter has descended on our corner of the world and boy, it's chilly! My sewing room happens to be the coldest room in the house so I've had to pack up and move my things into a room with a heater...it's hard to work a sewing machine when your fingers are frozen!
I've been busy making odds and ends ready for winter, trackies, hoodies, more flannel PJ pants etc. There was also a big pile of mending that I'm slowly making my way through.

Last night I sat down and finished another pair of the Pulputus pants....slightly modified. I used the shape of the Tarku pants as a guide to bring the width of them in a bit and I omitted the pintucks on the back pockets and added some Fabenmix ribbon instead.

The brown cord is from spotlight and is lovely and soft.....wish I'd gotten enough to make myself a pair!

 

 

I've also been reading the most amazing book that is changing the way I think about what we're eating. It's called "More With Less" Cookbook. It's a collection of 500 recipes from Mennonite kitchens that teaches us how to eat better and consume less of the world's limited food resources. The principles outlined in the book closely follow what our church teaches in regard to physical and spiritual heath and wellbeing.
We've already tried out a few recipies from the book and they were so delicious and so simple too. Our local library didn't have it but I requested it in, it's an oldie but they recently did an updated version. Big thumbs up from here!
