April 2015 - Farm visitors

We woke one wet Saturday morning to hear the girls calling out "Mum, Dad there are cows in our driveway?!" We told them to go back to bed as we though they were joking but they insisted and sure enough to our surprise there were two gorgeous calves munching happily on our hedges.
We couldn't figure out where they came from and so we ended up calling the police. While we waited for them to arrive the calves decided to keep wandering down the road and so we followed them and herded them into the corner houses yard which was vacant so they wouldn't go onto the main road. Mary and Becky had decided that we should keep them if no-one claimed them!
After a visit from the police and some helpful neighbours we figured out that they belonged to the people who live behind us and they had escaped and come down from the side street down to our house. After their owners arrived we all helped to herd them back up the street to their paddock. It was such a fun morning and Mary was pretty disappointed that we weren't going to be their new owners after all!
But I want a baby cow Mum!!
