October 2012 - The BIG family holiday part 1

Octobers happening will come over a few posts as there are sooooo many pictures!
Our big family holiday finally arrived which we had been planning for over a year I think. It was the first time in such a long time since we had all been together and it was just wonderful! We headed up to Sydney a bit early and spent a few days with Frannie and Frampa first. Mary was a little anxious on the plane trip this time as she was quite aware how far up we really were. It didn't help that Hannah and Beck were in the next aisle calling out "Wow, look how far up we are! I wonder if we'd ever fall out of the sky?!"

The view from our window leaving our lovely island home

Check out these snow covered mountains as we flew over Victoria!
Foster is where we had our reunion and it's about 3 or 4 hours out of Sydney heading north. Dave and John and their families drove down and we all drove up. The girls were great on the trip and doing things like this are so much easier now that they are getting older.
Checking out the wildlife in Foster
Lunch at the lake, there were kookaburras hanging around waiting for someone to drop something.
Gorgeous pelicans our on the lake. I haven't seen these since I was a little kid back at Victor Harbour, just beautiful. The place we stayed at was a big holiday house with loads of bedrooms and a granny flat out the back which we slept in. We didn't all fit though so Mum and Dad and a few of the boys stayed at another holiday place down the road. It was a bit of a madhouse with kids everywhere but it was so much fun and reminded me of all the fun times we had as kids with all our cousins.
Here's some of the girls enjoying the spa!
