Hannah grade 3/4 class this year had been learning about life cycles and decided to get some silk worms. We were lucky enough to bring them home a few times and look after them while they were growing. It was amazing how much they ate! Tassie being Tassie we had a bit of trouble getting food for them as the mulberry tree in town that we were collecting the leaves from was late in blooming and so we had to feed them on mulberry leaf buds for a while until the leaves decided to catch up to spring and unfurl!
Speaking of unfurling our veggie patch was growing great in December and we had loads of things to eat most days from it, raspberries, zucchinis, potatoes, herbs, cucumbers and more. Plus lots of lovely fresh eggs from our chickens.
Frampa made an unexpected visit midway though December when Frannie's Aunt Tantre Rie passed in Holland. Frannie and her sisters made a big trip over there for the funeral and so Frampa decided to come hang out with us for a week or so. We did all the usual fun things including strawberry picking in suits! We were on our way to the Christmas devotional at the chapel and stopped off for some yummy fresh strawberries and raspberries.
